Scan to BIM

Beau Turner announced yesterday via Twitter and Joe Eichenseer did via the IMAGINit blog that they have just released a new product called Scan to BIM ($2495.00 with optional maintenance for $495/year).


Their press release includes this quote from Marc Dulude CEO, Rand Worldwide.

We were lucky enough to beta test this for several months and I'm a big fan.

Full disclosure, there are some real shortcomings with the API that limited how much data can be visible at once and the color fidelity of that data. But, that is an Autodesk API problem not an Avatech problem. They did a great job with the plugin, and we're going to be using it on a bunch of projects in the next few months.

They hit this one out of the park as far as I'm concerned. And, unlike some plug-in developers, they have a 30 day trial. Anyway, just wanted to give them some props for what they've done.
